Outside Sales Representative
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for developing customer relationships, conducting outside sales, quoting, and related tasks to promote good customer relations and company profitability. Knowledge of our siding, roofing and windows is helpful, but not required. Richards will train dedicated candidates. Outside sales position includes benefits such as competitive base salary with commission and automobile reimbursement plan. Local travel with no overnight stay.
Responsibilities
- Plan and perform a variety of business development and outside sales activities.
- Identify business opportunities and prospects.
- Schedule sales visits, makes telephone sales calls.
- Recommend products, quotes standard pricing, solicits orders.
- Perform inside or counter sales, serving customers who come into the branch facility.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate equipment and/or material.
- May offer product or application advice.
- Provides product information and quotes prices.
- May specialize in knowledge of certain product lines or categories.
Qualifications
- High school education.
- 2 – 4 years experience in industrial, wholesale, or retail sales of building materials and supplies.
- Possess strong communication skills and persuasive abilities.
- Possess valid driver’s license with good driving record.
- Possess good math skills, and be computer literate.
- Any other equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Moderate local travel to customer sites.
