COVID-19 Response Plan for Michigan

The purpose of this document is to identify the steps to take in the event an individual displays symptoms of being sick with or has been confirmed to be afflicted with COVID-19.

  • If an employee comes to work and is displaying symptoms of being sick with COVID-19, isolate, and send them home immediately upon determination. Make available for them a mask if they are not already wearing one.
  • Notify HR immediately after sending home.
  • HR will perform an inquiry and record information such as date, time, symptoms, and contact with others at the facility.
  • The company may send home employees who may have worked in close proximity to a potentially infected employee for up to 14-days to ensure the infection if confirmed, does not spread.
  • If knowledge of a confirmed employee COVID-19 case has been obtained, HR will perform an inquiry and record information such as date, time, symptoms, and contact with others at the facility, if not already done.
  • For confirmed COVID-19 employee cases, HR will contact the public health service or medical provider.
  • For non-employees that have been identified as having COVID-19 and as having been at a facility, Safety will perform an inquiry and identify and record information such as date, time, symptoms, and contact with others at the facility.
  • Safety will inform Management, Legal, and HR immediately to discuss any further action that is deemed necessary.
  • Personnel who have been exposed to COVID-19 will contact HR BEFORE returning to work.
